What is a General Surgeon?
A General Surgeon treats diseases, injuries and deformities of all kinds by manual operative methods. This includes but is not limited to the alimentary tract (esophagus, stomach, small and large bowel), the abdomen and its contents, including the pelvis, the breast, the skin, soft tissue and musculoskeletal system, the chest, the head and neck, the vascular system, the endocrine system, oncology, trauma, and critically ill patients.
